A high growth leader in the hydraulics space retained Pacific to find a Procurement Manager for their flagship facility in a rural Kentucky. The perfect candidate needed, not only a strong procurement and cost-savings background, but the ability to train and develop a growing team.
The organization had been experiencing significant growth since a recent acquisition and was in line to double in size over the next two years as they acquired multiple production lines to their site. Given the volatility of the market and bottleneck constraints on their supply chain, our client needed a strong procurement leader to help guide them as they continued to grow.
The perfect candidate needed, not only a strong procurement and cost-savings background, but the ability to train and develop a growing team. A strong negotiator and people leader was required to set the organization up for success. This person needed the tenacity to drive cost savings and negotiate in a global supply chain environment that was evolving every day. That challenge was exacerbated by the demand that this fast-paced site would surely impose on the leader.
This was our second supply chain focused role with this client so we had a strong understanding of what their struggles were and the type of leader they needed. With a strong background in procurement across multiple industries and competitors, the candidate offered the perfect mix of hands-on and strategic leadership with strong negotiation skills that proved to be just what the client needed.
The successful candidate was identified, interviewed, and accepted an offer that he couldn’t be more pleased with. With over 20 years of experience in procurement leadership roles with manufacturing organizations, he is quickly acclimating to the fast-paced environment and already making breakthroughs that site leadership is impressed with. Additionally, he is starting to build out his own team which Pacific is supporting him with.
