A manufacturer of high-performance packaging solutions for food, beverage and health care engaged Pacific on a talent acquisition project to deliver a Manufacturing Operations Program Manager for a manufacturing facility expansion project in rural Italy.
Pacific was retained by this client who had grown significantly due to global pandemic, with an understandable increase in demand for the packaging of food, beverage, and medicine. At their large plant in Tuscany, they required a Manufacturing Operations Program Manager to design, build and assess the productivity of expansion investment within a strict timeline. This would increase productivity by a third as well as increase the output and revenues with of the other functioning production lines. Beautiful but remote, the location was difficult to attract talent to relocate from larger industrial areas in Italy.
An Italy consultant from our London team was assigned to the project with our Industrial Account Manager and we quickly gained an understanding of the geographical locations and the market in the local regions to identify target companies for headhunting and discover the most desirable attributes for the local market as well as make use of the language capability. We utilized our video interview platform to present a shortlist to the Plant General Manager.
The chosen candidate signed the contract of employment within 4 weeks of the start of the project and we also had two additional candidates from the shortlist who would have been chosen in the event of a counteroffer. The manufacturing facility is going from strength to strength, with the production rates achieving their expected increases as well as providing an opportunity for more FTE and innovative ideas for new products coming to market.
