A high-growth leader in the consumer electronics space retained Pacific to place an Engineering Manager in one of their most critical business units. They were looking for someone who could step into the position with strong leadership capabilities and an eye for continuous improvement and true innovation.
Pacific was engaged by one of the most critical business units of a large privately held organisation that was going through a massive transformation. With their Engineering Manager who had been with the business for more than twenty years retiring – they were looking for someone who could step into the position with strong leadership capabilities and an eye for continuous improvement and true innovation.
The nature of this search required the team at Pacific to think outside the box as the technical skillset required and the soft skills needed for this position were very unique. We worked closely with the hiring manager and the HR partner at the organisation to ensure we were not only targeting the correct organisations – but also asking the right questions when it came to leadership experience (complexities within teams) and thinking innovatively. Our team target mapped and was able to deliver a shortlist of multiple candidates with diverse backgrounds, specifically from one of the core competitors.
In the end, the first candidate that Pacific presented to the client was brought onsite to meet the leadership team and offered the position of Engineering Manager for the business unit. The organization saw a shortlist of over seven candidates and after multiple interviews and internal conversations, they hired someone with over fifteen years’ experience at their top competitor. The candidate happily accepted the position and had his first day less than three months after Pacific had their initial call. Pacific is now supporting the business through another search specifically focused on their Digital Transformation.
